External Examiner – Continuing Professional Education Programme

We are seeking two replacement external examiners for the Continuous Professional Education (CPE) programme which includes the BSc (Hons) Professional Practice, BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice, Graduate Certificate Clinical Practice and Post Graduate Certificate Clinical Practice degrees. The University of Brighton offers extensive support for external examiners and holds workshops annually. Further support is also provided by the course leads and the CPE Coordinator. The University normally expects external examiners to attend a minimum of one examination board per year.

Applicants are advised that the University applies the following criteria to external examiners:

• The area of expertise of external examiners is within the area of examinations undertaken;
• Applicants should have recently been employed (or are still employed) within a university appointment;
• He/she must not have been a University of Brighton examiner within the last five years;
• He/she will ideally have a qualification registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and internal and external examining experience

To avoid conflicts of interest, please do not apply if you are from the University of Teesside, London Southbank University, Queen’s University Belfast, University of the West of Scotland or University College Dublin

One External Examiner is required for the following modules:
Supporting Learners in Practice (mentorship) at level 6, level 7 and non-credited versions; Return to Practice; and Study Skills

One External Examiner is required for the following modules:
End of Life Principles of Care; End of Life Care for People with Long Term conditions; Research; and Dissertation
