We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our leadership team in the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery. This permanent appointment is to lead, primarily, the pre-qualifying Midwifery programmes in Oxford. This includes undergraduate and post graduate prequalifying programmes and second registration provision. The Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery also supports prequalifying programmes in Adult, Child and Mental Health Nursing, with Adult nursing also offered at our Swindon Campus. The School also offers a wide range of post qualifying provision including professional doctorate preparation in Nursing and Midwifery. We strive to offer contemporary curricula underpinned by research. Oxford Brookes hosts the Oxford Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Research, supporting multi-disciplinary health care research. Through the school, we work in partnership with a number of local NHS and PVI partners.

Our midwifery programmes are approved against the NMC Future Midwife Standards, and are UNICEF “Baby Friendly” accredited. This post offers the opportunity to continue to develop and expand our midwifery education at Oxford Brookes.

The post holder also has the support of a both an established and growing team of staff and close and productive working relationships with practice learning partners and service user groups.

The successful applicant will lead the programme management of midwifery with a focus on enhancing the student and staff experience and fostering programme growth and good standing in the wider professional community.

Qualifications required for post : Registered midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council; a higher degree in a subject relevant to midwifery or health care .
Experience required for post: Experience of successful leadership at programme level, delivered by effective team working and engagement with students; experience in midwifery programme design and development; evidence of relevant partnership working and external engagement.
