The Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education at Middlesex University is seeking to appoint an external examiner for our NMC approved pre-registration BSc (Hons) Nursing programme to support our existing external examiners. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role from any field of nursing. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure. The appointed external examiner will review students’ academic work for our four generic modules on the programme shared across our three fields of nursing (Adult, Mental Health, Children and Young People). The modules include Foundations for Professional Nursing Practice (FHEQ level 4 only) and Expansive Learning (FHEQ levels 4, 5 and 6). You will be invited to attend approximately two subject assessment boards and submit a written report each year. The term of office will be for a period of 4 years from October 2021.
The successful applicant must be currently engaged in teaching of a cognate subject at BSc/MSc level and hold current registration with the NMC. Please note that all external examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University’s Academic Quality Service and will be subject to verification of eligibility to work in the UK, as per UK Visa and Immigration requirements in the UK.
