We are seeking to appoint an external examiner for three programmes which enable staff working in health and social care to develop their professional knowledge to equip them for career advancement.

The role requires you to review a small number of modules that are delivered either via a partner Further Education College (New College Swindon) or via our online/on-campus provision offered directly by Oxford Brookes University. Students on the BSc are only completing level 6 study to move professional education that is the equivalent of a Foundation degree or Diploma in HE up to a full BSc (Hons) award. The MSc curriculum allows students to combine previous Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at level 7 with research methods study and a dissertation to create a bespoke Masters that will enhance their careers.

The suitable candidate for this role will be currently engaged in teaching of a health or social care degree and they will have experience of supporting students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The appointment is from the beginning of September 2024 for a term of four years. External Examiners are required to moderate assessments, attend examination committees (online), and to complete an annual report. External Examiners are also requested to provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and the development of new modules, within their area of expertise. If you would like further information relating to the programme, please do not hesitate to contact Dr Sarah Howcutt, Programme Lead, by emailing: showcutt@brookes.ac.uk

If you are interested in the above position, then please send a copy of your CV to the above e-mail address.
