The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work is seeking to recruit one external examiner for the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Child) programme. This programme has excellent National Student Survey results with good employment prospects for students.
This programme currently has one intake per year in September with approximately 60 students commencing. Normally there are two formal module examination boards, which the examiner would need to attend, with some additional reassessment boards per year. The BSc programme has 5 modules per year, four 20 credit academic modules and one 40 credit practice module. The examiner would be involved in all these modules. The appointment is for 4 years from 1st September 2021.
The applicant should have current registration as a child nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council; should possess a higher degree and demonstrate current involvement in the subject area. Experience of external examining is not essential as training is provided.
