We are seeking an External Examiner for the next academic year for the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy (Degree Apprenticeship) course. The University of Huddersfield offers extensive support for External Examiners and holds workshops annually. The University normally expects External Examiners to attend a minimum of one examination board per year. Based on the University’s criteria for External Examiner appointments, applicants are advised that the successful External Examiner:
- Will have a recognised Physiotherapy qualification, and be Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered.
- Have appropriate and current standing, expertise and experience to maintain comparability of standards across the Higher Education sector.
- Be fluent in English.
- Be able and willing to receive samples of work electronically rather than as paper-based material.
The course will recruit its first intake in September 2021 and therefore experience of working within a relevant degree apprenticeship is desirable but not essential. The programme is bespoke and will run separately from the current undergraduate route at the University. The successful candidate will be expected to attend and complete the induction at the University. The course is awaiting HCPC approval and, if successful, will be validated to recruit an intake of 20 learners. The successful External Examiner will commence their tenure on 27th September 2021, for a period of 4 years.
