The School of Life and Health Sciences is seeking to appoint an external examiner for our BSc Adult Nursing and MSci Adult and Mental Health Nursing (Dual Registration) programmes. Appointment will be from September 2024 for an initial four year period.
Examiners play a central role in the maintenance of the standards of the University’s awards and the currency of the curriculum. The successful applicant will be asked to:
- Review assessment briefs and exams
- Review samples of student work and practice assessment documents (ePAD)
- Meet with students and practice partners
- Attend examination boards
- Submit an annual report
- External examiners may also be asked to review RPL applications, provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of delivering pre-registration nursing programmes
- Current NMC registration on the appropriate part of the register
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience as an external examiner
