The School of Nursing and Allied Health is seeking to appoint a full or part-time, Senior Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy, initially on a fixed term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward our vision for our expanding School. Our innovative courses are recognised by the NMC and HCPC for academic quality, innovation and close partnerships to healthcare and the wider sectors in which our graduates work. The successful post holder will develop the Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate degree and Level 6 degree apprenticeship course, taking them through a successful accreditation whilst working closely with and developing relationships with employer partners. There will then be the opportunity to become the Programme Leader on successful accreditation and recruitment for the course.
This is an opportunity to shape the Speech & Language Therapy agenda at the University of Chichester that includes wider contributions with apprenticeship and practice. We offer fantastic new simulation-based learning facilities that include an immersive learning suite, virtual reality and robotics within our new dedicated building. You will have knowledge, experience and skills within the field of Speech & Language Therapy and ideally experience of running apprenticeships alongside extensive partnership liaison experience.
Successful applicants will have:
• Degree and/or Postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language therapy (or equivalent speech and language therapy qualification)
• Current HCPC registration with no restrictions
• Recent Clinical practice experience in the UK
• Experience of practice education or supporting/supervising/teaching students in Higher Education
• Awareness and understanding of the apprenticeship agenda

Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to our students.
You will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational. You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
