We are recruiting for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer with excellent clinical and academic skills to teach across our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, pre-registration MSc Physiotherapy, and Post Graduate programmes.

You should be an HCPC registered Physiotherapist with a postgraduate qualification who also has experience in clinical supervision. An understanding of principles of learning and teaching in higher education is essential. You should be able to contribute to core areas of the physiotherapy curriculum in a research informed manner. We are particularly looking to recruit someone with strong experience in Physiotherapy in an acute setting, with experience managing respiratory conditions.
In order to be successful in this post, you should have:
- A good (1st or 2:1) degree in physiotherapy plus a postgraduate MSc, or alternatively a relevant first degree plus a pre-registration MSc in Physiotherapy.
- Current and active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months.
- Recent professional experience as a senior practitioner or at an advanced practice level, ideally in an acute care setting.
- A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or a HEA Fellowship is required, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months.
- Up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in health including current clinical, professional and policy developments and the range of generic skills required to teach the subject.
- Experience of implementing creative approaches to developing teaching and learning of physiotherapy issues in universities and/or clinical practice.
It is desirable to have post-graduate qualifications and an active research portfolio. If you have a Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers. Clinical experience in acute care is desirable, as is an understanding of the management of respiratory conditions.

The post is currently based at our Eastbourne Campus, however, we will be moving to the Falmer campus of the University in summer 2024, which can be found on the A23 on the northern edge of Brighton. Bespoke facilities for healthcare education are currently under construction on this campus.
