Lecturer: Full-time, 1.0 fte – salary range: £37,467 to £40,927 per annum pro rata.
Senior Lecturer: Part-time, 0.8 fte – salary range: £42,149 to £50,296 per annum pro rata.

We are expanding our innovative and dynamic Health Care academic provision within our new School of Nursing and Allied Health at the University of Chichester; this is an exciting opportunity to help grow and shape the future of the Nursing and Allied Health workforce in West Sussex.

This is a unique post that is part of a Wider Health Education England South East Regional project in developing placement learning opportunities for Nursing Associates in the region. As a Lecturer for placement expansion in health care, you will lead on increasing health care placements for Nursing Associate Learners within the wider primary care and social care environment within West Sussex. There will be an expectation that you will teach as a member of the teaching team in a developing capacity within the Nursing Programmes in your specialism, in addition to delivering education within the social care sector to prepare placement capacity. This will be with the assistance of a mentor and/or senior colleague if required. You will be required to work effectively across boundaries and systems in promoting this role and understand the Apprenticeship and Nursing Midwifery Council requirements for placement learning.

This is an opportunity to contribute to our development Nursing Associate programme and also contribute at a wider regional level to support this role. The role will include partnership working across boundaries both internally and with practice partners associated with the University. We offer fantastic new simulated based learning facilities that include an immersive learning suite, Virtual Reality and robotics within our new HEALTHONE building with opportunities to prepare students for diverse placements in these settings. Our mission is to provide outstanding education for the future Nursing and Allied Health Workforce in a face to face supportive and interprofessional community.

Ideally candidates will have knowledge, experience and skills within the field of Nursing and Allied Health education either clinically or academically.  This can be a professional development opportunity with support during your contract with us. You will need to be a current registrant with one of the following: Nursing Midwifery Council, Health and Care Professionals Council or Social Work England and have demonstrable expertise in supporting practice learning for professional students.

The successful candidate will need to be motivated, pro-active and engage with collaborative working both as a team and with wider partners. We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of caring science knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills such as compassionate leadership and robust digital skills.
