The Department of Nursing, Midwifery & Health is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for modules within Pre-Registration Nursing including BSc (Hons) Nursing Science Child/ MSc Nursing Science Child and Degree Apprenticeship Nursing Science/Child Programmes. The post holder will be the Lead Examiner for the programme and will moderate the following modules:

CN0408 Theory 2: Applied Life and Social Sciences, Planning and Evaluating Care
CN0511 Theory 3: Psychosocial Approaches for Children and Young People
CN0610 Theory 5: Transition to Accountable Practitioner in Children and Young People’s Nursing
CN0705 Promoting Health and Preventing Ill Health in Children and Young People’s Nursing
CN0707 Principles of Innovative Nursing Practice in Children and Young People’s Nursing
DA5065 Theory 3: Psychosocial Approaches for Children and Young People
DA6056 Theory 5: Transition to Accountable Practitioner in Children and Young People’s Nursing
NS0622 Nursing Skills 5: Leading and Improving Safety and Care Quality
NS0719 Nursing Practice Module (2) Leadership, Quality and Teamwork in Nursing Practice (Adult) (Child) (Learning Disability)
NS0711 Developing Nursing Practice through Research

The appointment will be for 4 academic years from 1 August 2024 to 31 December 2028

As external examiner you will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme. You will be involved in approving assessment tasks, moderating student work, completion of an annual report and may be invited to attend examination boards. You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules.

Applicants should hold appropriate professional registration and academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience as an external examiner/assessor although support and guidance can be provided for those new to the role. • For degree / higher apprenticeship programmes – please ensure your relevant occupational experience & professional body registrations are evident
