We are seeking an External Advisor for the validation of our new Specialist Community Practitioner PGDip/MSc programme. We have a scheduled periodic review and validation date for Wednesday April 19th 2023 on MS Teams.

The External Advisor will need to hold the Specialist Practitioner Qualification on either the District Nurse Pathway or the General Practice Nurse Pathway. The role of the External Advisor is to provide an independent view of the course and its comparability with similar courses nationally. External advisors should be independent, impartial in judgment and, as far as possible, free from any conflict of interest. To ensure this, schools avoid using an external advisor for an approval or review event who:

i) is either currently, or has been in the past three academic sessions, an External Examiner of the University;
ii) has been, within the preceding five years, a member of staff, governor or student of the University;
iii) has acted as an external advisor for curriculum or partnership development, approval or review events more than five times in any five-year period;
iv) works for an organisation with which the University has a contractual relationship;
v) works for an organisation for which a member of the course team has a contractual relationship.
