About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Sonographer to join the University College as we continue to develop and expand our clinical services. Reporting to the Clinical Imaging Lead, the successful candidate will undertake clinical ultrasound examinations across a number of examination types. They will act as the clinical lead within the Ultrasound department providing operational management and leading on clinical governance and audit, ensuring patients receive outstanding care. They will be involved in ensuring that students have a fantastic placement learning environment.

There are opportunities for the successful candidate to be involved both in academic teaching and lead on research within the clinical setting.

They will be responsible for ensuring that the Ultrasound service are compliant with clinical governance and audit requirements, ensuring a high-quality and effective service.

The successful candidate will assist with administration and other activities supporting the work of the service as well as developing and enhancing its reputation both internally and externally.

About the person

The successful candidate for this role will have knowledge, skills and experience in diagnostic ultrasound across a range of specialities, which must include abdominal and gynaecological scanning.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a member of a team are essential qualities the successful applicant will possess.
