The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, diagnostic radiography, clinical psychology and public health. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses including Advanced Clinical Practice, Independent prescribing and Global Healthcare Management.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a Senior Teaching Fellow in Physiotherapy into the role of Course Director for the MSc Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and MSc First Contact Practice within the physiotherapy portfolio. You will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of teaching, learning and assessment. You will contribute to the course quality monitoring and enhancement and work with range of external partners and stakeholders.
You will undertake teaching and module leadership while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programs with innovative teaching and learning approaches to enhance student experience. You will contribute to curriculum development by actively participating in School’s Curriculum Review and Transformation. Senior Teaching Fellows lead on aspects of the student learning experience including the leadership of staff teams.
Qualifications Required
- Master’s degree in Physiotherapy and membership of appropriate professional body is desirable
- Registered with the HCPC
- Teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education
- PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body is advantageous
Our Successful Candidate
You will be a HCPC registered physiotherapist with experience of successful teaching at higher education or substantial clinical experience and expertise in physiotherapy particularly in the areas of MSK and/or First Contact Practice.
You will be an experienced team leader who is enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with high-quality presentation skills, the ability to mentor and coach other members of the team.
You will also demonstrate a good level of digital fluency and have experience creating teaching materials for face to face and online teaching.
