Our Mission
The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, diagnostic radiography, clinical psychology and public health. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Advanced Clinical Practice, Independent prescribing and Global Healthcare Management

The Role
As Senior Teaching Fellow in Dietetics you will undertake teaching and course coordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.

Duties include:

  • Lead the curation, adaptation, design and development of module and course teaching materials.
  • Undertake on a key leadership role of either course director, admissions tutor or placements lead.
  • Ensure that students have an effective learning experience by providing high quality academic guidance and advice and by enhancing their retention/progression and employability.

Qualifications Required

  • Currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a dietitian
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate subject, or if a registered dietitian, a good honours degree and current HCPC registration as a dietitian

Our Successful Candidate
You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in dietetics with the development and demonstration of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning. An experienced team leader with good level of digital fluency, you will have experience using creating teaching materials for face to face and online teaching using a VLE.

Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience in the development and enhancement of an ‘active learning’ pedagogy as appropriate to the academic subject area. Innovation and collaboration are key to our success, therefore the ability to generate and follow through innovative ideas, with the willingness to engage in flexible ways of working are key skills required for this role.
