An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Lecturer to join our Paramedic Science programme team at Birmingham City University. You will be expected to play a key role driving forward and developing the department portfolio in addition to the teaching and assessment of our pre-registration programme delivery, as well as supporting post-registration programmes and contributing to inter-professional learning opportunities.

The post holder will be expected to enhance the research and enterprise agenda of the School and Department, mentor junior members of the academic team and undertake significant roles in the department. You will also be involved in the training and support of clinical mentors and students at clinical placement sites which will include clinical visits, and therefore experience of supporting pre-registration students within the practice environment is essential.

This will be a varied, interesting and challenging role, which will require flexibility, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner/academic with significant academic and clinical experience in Paramedic Practice, Prehospital or emergency/urgent care setting, who is able to share their knowledge effectively to learners, through their passion and commitment to education, research and high quality service delivery.

You will be registered with either the HCPC. You must be educated to a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and hold or working towards a Masters or Doctoral level studies and able to demonstrate evidence of on-going post-registration professional development, and support will be given to the successful candidate to develop their personal and professional academic portfolio; including the opportunity to undertake our highly regarded Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in HE/Academic Professional Apprenticeship
