The key duties of the role holder will be to contribute to programme leadership, development and delivery of the Operating Department Practice (ODP) programme(s). Essential to this position will be the ability to cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with healthcare providers.
The role holder will contribute to curriculum development, teaching and assessment across all ODP discipline subjects, in addition to perioperative CPD delivery, recruitment, retention and marketing activities. HCPC registration is an essential requirement of this role, in addition to a first degree and teaching qualification. NMC registrants with relevant experience will be considered.
We are particularly interested in candidates from an academic background, with extensive knowledge and experience in operating department practice and higher education. Successful candidates will demonstrate a comprehensive awareness of current developments and challenges within ODP practice, education and training, with particular insight into the ODP apprenticeship provision.
Successful candidates will hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area and be willing to complete a PhD/ Professional doctorate in a specified time frame.
