Post Title: Senior Lecturer in Social Work

Salary: UH8 £44,263pa to £56,021pa dependent on skills and experience
Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: College Lane Campus, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

Main duties and responsibilities
You will participate in teaching, assessment and module management on the Social Work programmes including the new degree apprenticeship programme. You will participate, in the development and review of the programmes including inter-professional developments across the School. You will contribute to the interview admissions team for the Social work programmes. You will contribute to the ongoing evaluation and review of the School’s activities. You will also undertake and contribute to Social Work research and contribute to the administration of the School.

Skill and experience required
You will be an experienced Social Worker, registered with SWE and have recent academic and/or practice experience in the UK. You will be expected to have a sustained interest in and knowledge of contemporary Social Work practice. In addition to this, you should have good oral and written communication skills as well as an ability to work without close supervision and work effectively as part of a team. In this role, you will need to be adaptable to change and be flexible with team and workload requirements.

Qualifications required
For this role, you must hold an Honours degree (or equivalent level 6 qualification) in Social work or related discipline, as well as a Master’s degree or close to completion of a Master’s degree (or equivalent level 7 qualification) in a relevant subject or substantial practice experience as a Social Worker. You must be registered with SWE.

An appointment to this role may require an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate.
