Senior Lecturer in Podiatry

Opening Date:
15 Oct 2020
Closing Date:
12 Nov 2020
Salary Range:

This is a 0.6 FTE role.

The University of Derby is seeking to appoint a senior academic to help us develop our new podiatry provision. We are developing two new apprenticeships: Level 6 and Level 7 pre-registration podiatry. We are currently working with Health Education England and are seeking the right person to support the development and approval of the programmes.

The programmes will be delivered largely online with some face to face teaching, so an interest in flexible or blended learning is helpful but not essential. The University has a strong tradition of online teaching as well as modern simulation facilities and is one of the biggest healthcare apprenticeship providers in the region. Applicants must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have relevant industry experience. The post is based at our Kedleston Road campus in Derby, but the nature of the role permits a flexible approach to working – please do not allow geography to discourage your interest in this role.

Support will be given to the right candidate to become proficient with online teaching pedagogies and apprenticeships – what we are seeking is someone with the relevant experience and drive who shares our vision. It is extremely important that our successful candidate not only understands the student experience, but that they genuinely enjoy making a positive impact for them both in and out of classes.

The post is fixed term in the first instance to oversee the development and successful approval of the level 6 and level 7 qualifications, including approval from the Health and Care Professions Council where appropriate.

To arrange an informal discussion, please contact Denise Baker, Head of School Allied Health and Social Care (D.Baker@derby.ac.uk)
