An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Physiotherapy team within the School of Health and Social Work as a Senior Lecturer. You will play an essential role both in the delivery of our educational programmes and supporting students gaining the skills to succeed.

Main duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for the teaching and assessment of undergraduate, pre-registration and postgraduate Physiotherapy students at the University and support them whilst they are on their practice placements. You will utilise the current evidence-base to underpin teaching and learning activities. You may participate in development and reviews of programmes including inter-professional developments across the School and contribute to undergraduate, pre-registration and postgraduate curriculum developments helping to shape or lead modules as required.

You will contribute to the administration of the School by undertaking additional roles, such as joining teams involved in admissions, timetabling or programme support. You will also be expected to undertake and contribute to Physiotherapy research where relevant. You will liaise with and maintain good relationships with colleagues across the School and University.

Skills and Experience
You will be an experienced practising Physiotherapist with the HCPC, and have a broad experience of relevant Physiotherapy practice in the field of Musculoskeletal.

Your application will demonstrate a sustained interest and knowledge of contemporary Physiotherapy practice and it is essential that you have good oral and written communication skills and be proficient in the English language. You will demonstrate a willingness to support physiotherapy research and are able to work effectively as part of a team. You will be able to work without close supervision, be organised, take initiative and be self-motivating, and be adaptable to change and flexible in your approach. You must be willing to contribute to inter-professional teaching and learning activities, with an interest in evidence-based healthcare.

Qualifications required
For Senior Lecturer you must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree (or equivalent level 7 qualification/ demonstrate substantial clinical experience) in a relevant subject and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist, a member of the CSP.
