The School of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Studies.

We have a strong reputation and expertise in developing clinical practitioners within the North-West and we are looking for clinicians to join our teaching team to contribute and teach on our Paramedic programme. The key duties of the post holder will be to lead and contribute to the delivery, development, research and administrative support of the BSc Paramedic programme, which will include the academic and personal support of students. In addition to academic teaching responsibilities, the appointee will work closely with our clinical colleagues within local NHS Trusts / organisations to support students during clinical learning experiences. The appointee will also contribute to the student recruitment and admissions of the programme.

A first degree and post-graduate qualification in Paramedic practice is required. Strong clinical knowledge and an HCPC or equivalent registration is an essential requirement for this role, ideally you will have a teaching qualification and a willingness to complete PhD / Professional Doctorate in a dedicated timescale.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of current changes in health care practice and evolving developments in Clinical Practice and be able to facilitate the creation and maintenance of a range of links between courses and the health care sector.

Relevant teaching and programme delivery experience is preferred, this could be teaching / assisting with teaching within your clinical practice area, as well as being able to undertake appropriate subject specific research and / or advanced creative practice and / or enterprise activity is essential.
