We are seeking to appoint a full-time Senior Lecturer (Education and Scholarship) in Nursing with the vision and knowledge to match ours. Ideally, we need a person with education leadership expertise and a track record of curriculum development, commitment to excellence in health and social care and to student and team members’ flourishing. The Senior Lecturer will lead on quality teaching and stage appropriate student learning experiences on the MSci Nursing programme and other educational developments.

The Academy of Nursing and innovative MSci Nursing programme, launched in 2019, prepares students for exemplary nurse leadership which promotes and sustains excellence in care. Our Academy will create and develop a lifelong community of constantly curious and pioneering nurses at the forefront of regional, national and global innovation in care leadership, research and education.

About you

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD in Nursing or equivalent, of the core knowledge relating to nurse education in order to teach and support learning on nursing-related modules.
  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
  • Be expected to work towards Principle Fellow of the HEA and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
