We wish to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Leadership and Management to enhance our Health Sciences undergraduate and post-graduate programmes and contribute specifically to the development of clinical leadership, management, and health administration education within the division.
Recent developments across our programmes have seen an increased focus on healthcare leadership and management, with these being emphasised in the current NMC and HCPC educational standards. Developments in the BSc Professional Practice, MSc Public Health, MSc Early Years Practice and proposed enhancement of our MSc Advancing Practice have also placed leadership and management at their core. There has been considerable investment in the development of our healthcare programmes, and it is anticipated that there will be growth in the BSc PP and MScAP, particularly in the international market. Further to this, there is an increase in demand for leadership skills from our practice partners across healthcare settings.
The successful candidate will be able to design and deliver online and face-to-face courses at both under-graduate and post-graduate level and above using evidence-based approach to education and research-led teaching. The post demands excellence in teaching and learning and innovative approaches to promote student engagement. Equally, the successful candidate would have a solid understanding of the regulations and standards that govern healthcare education and related clinical skills and practice. Ideally, they will have, or be working towards a PhD or evidence of a track record in senior clinical leadership and service management.
The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the division and have leadership and line-management responsibility. This senior post is intended to maximise the provision of contemporary healthcare management knowledge and skills within the programmes and to build links between clinical practice, research and education across the faculty.
