About the role

We are seeking an innovative Senior Lecturer in Health and Social Care to be programme leader for our Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship programme.

This programme, one of only a few in the UK fully mapped to the new assistant practitioner apprenticeship standard and assessment plan, is aimed at individuals entering the Assistant Practitioner role, looking to develop their skills beyond those of the traditional Healthcare Support worker. Entrants to the programme are from a wide variety of backgrounds reflecting the breadth of the health and social care workforce. The programme has been developed to reflect key policies shaping the workforce, the NHS, Health and Social Care sectors today with the skills and attributes needed within the workforce to deliver care with compassion and to ensure the best outcomes for patients and service users. The programme team work very closely with employers and learning is directly linked to the delivery of care in practice.

This programme is delivered via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) platform, meaning that students do not need to attend campus for lectures. This means that the programme and training can be accessed remotely from anywhere in the UK.

You will be adaptable and innovative, and have excellent communication skills. It is essential that you will be focused on providing an excellent student experience and understand the importance of supporting students undertaking apprenticeships. You will have a strong clinical and/or educational background.

This post will be a Full-Time equivalent (Job Share and Part time applicants welcome).
