The School of Health Sciences is dedicated to the education and development of health professionals and the performance of high-quality research. It is located in one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. The School offers students excellent academic tuition at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We offer pre-registration degrees in: Nursing, Midwifery, Radiography, Optometry, and Speech and Language therapy, while our suite of master’s programmes includes advanced courses in Nursing; Midwifery; Radiography; Optometry; Speech, Language and Communication; Health Management, Policy and research; and Food Policy.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate who has extensive experience within the field of Advanced Clinical Practice. The successful applicant, as Programme Director, will lead on, and develop, our current ACP provision, which is offered as MSc Advanced Clinical Practice and MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Apprenticeship.

You will provide high-quality education at to undergraduate and postgraduate students and demonstrate an ability to be innovative and flexible to meet the changing needs of the workforce.

  • The appointed candidate will have a higher degree in a relevant health or social science discipline, NMC or HCPC registration and a relevant teaching qualification, or a willingness to undertake one.
  • A breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in advanced clinical practice to develop and enhance programmes of education is required.
  • For appointment on an Education & Research role profile, a record of producing world-leading and internationally excellent research is required.
  • For appointment at Associate Professor level, more significant contributions in teaching and learning will be demonstrated.
  • For appointment at Reader level, more significant contributions in research will be demonstrated.
