Salary Reader (ACRE Grade): £68,015 inclusive of London Weighting
Salary Professor (ACP Grade): £73,247 inclusive of London Weighting

The Division of Occupational Therapy is seeking to recruit a Reader / Professor with vision and academic ambition to provide leadership and academic capacity in the discipline of Occupational Therapy, and to contribute to Brunel University London continuing to grow as a centre of excellence both nationally and internationally in Occupational Therapy. The candidate will be a leader and influencer in their specialist area of occupational therapy.

Brunel University London is a leading provider of undergraduate and postgraduate education for the allied health professions and associated subject areas. With modern, purpose built teaching facilities, set within a vibrant campus based University, Brunel provides excellent opportunities to work alongside sector leading academics from a wide range of health related subjects including Physiotherapy, Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, Physician Associate, Sports Science and Psychology. The Department of Health Sciences, within the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, provides a collegiate and collaborative environment for the conduct of nationally and internationally relevant research examining contemporary issues aligned with the Research Centres and University Research Institutes.

Brunel University London has three academic tracks of employment and this falls under Teaching/Research contract. This will mean that applicants must have experience of the delivery of high-quality teaching and of the development and leadership of occupational therapy education. In addition, they must have a substantial national and international research profile with sustained research outcomes aligned to one of the College’s Research Centres. Brunel University London is a top 40 UK research-intensive university according to REF 2021, therefore the successful applicant will be expected to produce high quality research and gain external research grants that contribute to the research profile of the Division. Experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level is essential. Applicants will also be a registered Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or international equivalent.
