An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our speech and language therapy team in the department of Health Professions at Manchester Metropolitan University.

About the role:
The post holder would be expected to make a significant contribution to our allied health research and specifically speech & language therapy, increasing our 3* and 4* output and international reputation in this area.
The Faculty of Health and Education is located in the purpose-built Brooks building, with first-class facilities for research and teaching in our cognate disciplines. These include the ICON Unit supporting speech & language therapy education, research and partnership working, purpose-built nutrition and dietetics laboratories, sensory labs, a clinical simulation suite and video observation facilities, and a physiotherapy and wellbeing clinic (The Manchester Movement Unit).
In addition, there are outstanding opportunities for developing clinical and research collaborations with physiotherapy, dietetics, nutrition, nursing and psychology through our Research Centre in Health, Psychology and Communities and with colleagues in Healthcare Science and Exercise and Sport Science. Our research networks are local, national and international and include clinical and research colleagues with an interest in speech, language and communication disorders.

About the candidate:
We are looking for applicants with a PhD or doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration, significant research and clinical experience, and an in-depth understanding of the discipline of speech and language therapy.

The post requires applicants to have significant international quality research publication in high quality journals and a successful track record of obtaining research funding. Applicants are also expected to have experience of managing research projects and liaising with research sponsors/partners at a senior level.
