Post: Programme Leader Specialist Community Nursing and Specialist Community Public Health Nursing

Salary: UH9 £54,421 pa to £64,946 pa depending on skills and experience
Annual leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the University closure between Christmas and New Year

The Programme Leader, Specialist Community Nursing and Specialist Community Public Health Nursing is to the lead on the strategic development and operational delivery of our post registration delivery of health visiting, school nursing, community children’s nursing, district nursing and general practice nursing. You should have a strong commitment to developing and maintaining relationships with external partners and other stakeholders.
Your teaching approach should be flexible, student focussed, and research informed, and you should possess excellent interpersonal skills. Previous experience of teaching within a higher education institution is essential. Demonstration of module/ programme leadership is desirable. You will have current knowledge of NMC requirements for specialist community nursing and specialist community public health nursing. You will have an awareness of the requirements for Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education and Ofsted. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of leadership, teamworking and working autonomously as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience of successful partnership working with practice partners and students is essential.
You must have live registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a nurse or midwife in addition you should either hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery council as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse or a recordable qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Specialist Community Nurse. You will hold a master’s degree or a Level 7 qualification such as a PgDip. Commitment to doctoral study is desirable.
