We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a motivated individual to provide successful leadership of our Physiotherapy programmes, focussed on high student achievement and excellent levels of student satisfaction. We are keen to support an individual who can lead programmes in their implementation of the University strategy for enhancing the student experience, including the enrichment of teaching and learning by research.

We would like to attract an inspirational researcher who will work collaboratively both within the Department and across the University and beyond. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Head of Department, the Research Lead for the Department, Faculty Associate Deans and students.

The Oxford Brookes Physiotherapy programmes are well established and highly regarded pre-qualifying professional programmes at both undergraduate (BSc) and Pre-Registration MSc level. Located in Marston Road and with newly refurbished state of the art simulation facilities we have a strong research focus and support home and International PhD and placement students. Physiotherapy research takes place through the Oxford Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Research (OxINMAHR) and Centre for Movement, Occupation and Rehabilitation Research (MORes).

Key responsibilities:
Academic leadership of the Physiotherapy Programmes working closely with the Head of Department, Research Lead, Associate Dean Student Experience and the Associate Dean, Strategy and Development to align the work of the cluster with Faculty and University objectives. Part of the management group of the Department of Sport, Health Sciences and Social Work.

Qualifications and experience required for the role:

  • Higher degree in Physiotherapy
  • Professional qualification in Physiotherapy and registration with HCPC and Membership of the CSP
  • The ability to build collaborative internal and external relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of successful leadership
