The University’s campus masterplan has invested in a £22m National Horizon Centre and £16.5m Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre (due to open April 2023), £36m in a new BIOS building (due to open in September 2023) housing its science laboratories and Integrated Healthcare Academy and a Digital Life centre (due to open in September 2024) to support the innovation and skills needs of the region. The University has a close relationship with the Tees Valley Combined Authority and is a key player in the regeneration of the region through its support for decarbonisation, biosciences, social policy, health, and digital.
