About You

With a strong national and international research profile in an area relating to adult nursing, you will have a successful track record in research-related income generation, PhD supervision and of supporting the development of a vibrant research environment. You will have experience of developing and delivering research support programmes as well as experience of the development and implementation of strategy and policy with an understanding of research and academic governance.

You will provide strong leadership to ensure the growth of research in the Faculty and will engage with external health and social care stakeholders as well as external clinical academic networks to maximise opportunities. To be successful, you will have high level leadership and motivation skills with an inclusive and engaging team building ethos and focus, with the ability to positively communicate and influence a diverse stakeholder group.

About the Role

The post provides an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the research profile of the Faculty at an exciting time in its development.

You will be a research leader for the Faculty and will lead and develop research relating to adult nursing in areas aligning to the cross-Faculty research themes. Developing research capacity and capability in adult nursing and the broader Faculty will be a key part of the role. Target setting, leadership, line management and/or close working with academic managers, especially those in nursing, will also be important.

The post holder will work closely with other research leaders and contribute to general research activities and research governance and management within the Faculty and, where appropriate, the wider University. You will make a major contribution towards the next REF. A significant contribution to innovation, enterprise and teaching within nursing and the Faculty is also expected.
