The new School of Health and Social Wellbeing is situated in the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences at UWE, Bristol. The changing shape of contemporary health and social care requires a workforce that can work across boundaries, requiring the HEI sector to evolve to meet the needs of partners and employers in creating an agile workforce. You will work across the School holding a key leadership role as part of the Executive team contributing to the development of the School’s values and positive culture. You will contribute to the School strategy for teaching, learning and research and will be responsible and accountable for the strategic oversight and decision making of curriculum development and delivery that upholds professional identity across the School. You will work collaboratively with Professional Community and Portfolio Leads to develop the School’s operational, ensuring achievement of the School’s key performance indicators and ensuring alignment with the Faculty and UWE 2030 strategy, whilst being a People Manager for academic staff within the School.

The key professional qualifications; knowledge; skills and experience we require for this role include: current registration with a health and social care professional body; a Master’s degree; significant experience of academic leadership within a higher education institution; effective leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop excellent working relationships; motivate teams, and working with people and as part of a team to facilitate and encourage a high level of performance; a commitment to quality enhancement to deliver a high level of service; knowledge and understanding of the issues and demands facing the sector, University, Faculty and School, a commitment to enhance the University’s widening participation, equality and social inclusion agendas. This is a permanent, fulltime post and based at our Glenside Campus and requires enhanced DBS clearance.
