The School of Allied Health and Community offers courses ranging from Foundation Degrees in various specialities in Health and Social Care, to BA (Hons) Social Work, BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Paramedic Science and Master’s level study in a number of disciplines related to Health and Social Care. The School is also developing a range of new CPD provision. The wider School has an exceptional reputation for excellence and the appointee will further develop the quality of our provision through strong collaboration with our practice partners.
The post holder will join the Social Work programme team, at University of Worcester, to provide a Practice Facilitator role, coordinating the practice element and the continuing development of the placements for the BA and MA Social Work degree programmes, as well as supporting the Social Work CPD courses offered within the Department. The Practice Facilitator will be an experienced Social Worker, registered with Social Work England (SWE), and will provide a range of support to students, placements and course team to ensure high quality practice education learning experiences within the programme. This position requires ongoing liaison with Social Work students, academic staff, Practice Educators and placement providers at all levels in a wide range of local authority social work providers with both adult and children health services and social care agencies in the private, voluntary and independent sector. The post holder will be strategic in developing new placement opportunities, to support a growing number of students in the programme and provide education and training for practice educators. The post holder will liaise with employers to secure placements, support students and provide preparation, tutorials and documentation for their practice learning experiences. In addition, they will ensure that students and Practice Educators complete the paperwork to meet requirements, and that it is stored securely.
The Practice Facilitator will provide leadership, development, and documentation for practice modules. In collaboration with the University of Worcester Work Placement Support Team the post holder will ensure necessary information is provided to support practice placements for students and practice educators, including web-based information. The post holder will also assist in assessing students’ assignments, placement visits, and engage in scholarly activity as appropriate.
