The School of Allied Health and Community offers courses ranging from foundation degrees in various specialities in health and social care, to BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Paramedic Science and Social Work, and Master’s level study in a number of disciplines related to Health and Social Care. The School is also developing a range of new CPD provision. The wider School has an exceptional reputation for excellence and the appointee will further develop the quality of our provision through strong collaboration with our practice partners.

The post holder will join the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme team, at University of Worcester, to provide clinical supervision at our student-led clinic (HealthHub), as well as coordination and module leadership for practice education across three levels of the degree programme. The Practice Education Lecturer will be an experienced Physiotherapist, registered with HCPC, and will provide educational support to students and practice educators to ensure high quality practice education learning experiences within the programme. This position requires ongoing liaison with Physiotherapy students, academic staff and Practice Educators/coordinators at all levels in a wide range of practice facilities including: NHS Trusts, Social Services, Care Facilities, Private Practices, Charities and Schools. The post holder will be strategic in developing new practice education opportunities, to support a growing number of students in the programme and provide education and training for practice educators. The post holder will liaise with employers to secure placements, support students and provide preparation, tutorials and documentation for their practice learning experiences. In addition, they will ensure that students and clinical supervisors complete the paperwork to meet requirements, and that it is stored securely.

The Practice Education Lecturer will provide leadership, development, and documentation for practice education module. In collaboration with the University of Worcester Work Based Learning Support Office the post holder will ensure necessary information is provided to support practice education for students and practice educators, including web-based information. The post holder will also assist in assessing students’ assignments, zoned academic visits, and engage in scholarly activity as appropriate.
