The Role
Forward-looking, focused and innovative, join our dynamic University. In this key role you will strive to strengthen nursing practice to maintain and enhance the reputation of our School in the area of mental health nursing. You need to be articulate and well respected, teaching primarily on pre-registration nursing and Nursing Associate programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and taking the lead on modules where appropriate. There is also an opportunity for teaching on workforce development programmes. In particular, you will have the ability to inspire our students and will have a keen interest in developing education. Alongside being involved in the pastoral care of students, you will be encouraged and supported to further your interests in research, enterprise and professional practice.

The Person
You will be a mental health nurse on the NMC register, educated at least to degree level. You will be resourceful, highly motivated, creative and ambitious. You will be interested in learning and teaching and be able to share your skills and expertise with the nursing and healthcare workforce of the future. A teaching qualification is desirable but non-essential, the Faculty supports new members of staff to gain appropriate qualifications and is keen to support ongoing academic and professional development. You’ll have a high level of clinical competence and credibility in a relevant area of expertise. You will have excellent communication skills and the confidence to inspire a diverse range of students and staff to exceed all expectations. You will also have a keen interest in research and to work towards development of a national reputation in the field of Mental Health Nursing Education and Practice.
