Salary: Lecturer UH7 £35,333 to £42,155 pa; Senior Lecturer UH8 £42,155 to £53,353 pa depending on skills and experience

This is an exciting opportunity to join the School as a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Learning Disability nursing, joining a supportive and friendly academic team. The role requires an enthusiastic, committed and student-focused individual who is keen to play a key role in the provision of high-quality, evidence-informed nursing and nursing associate education.

Main duties & responsibilities
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Learning Disability Nursing will provide high quality academic input in relation to the planning, teaching, assessing and evaluation of programmes of study at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (BSc & MSc-including apprenticeship, and the Nursing Associate Degree Apprenticeship), and contributing to our continuing professional development portfolio.
At Senior Lecturer level you would be expected to take on Module Leadership.

Skills and experience needed
You will have experience of teaching and supporting nursing students and knowledge of current NMC requirements and standards of proficiency. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of teamworking and working autonomously as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience of successful partnership working with practice partners and students would be desirable at Senior Lecturer level.

Qualifications required
For the Lecturer position, you will be a registered nurse (Registered with the NMC) with experience of working with people with a learning disability and hold an honours degree in a relevant subject.
In addition, for the Senior Lecturer position, you will hold a master’s degree or a Level 7 qualification such as a PgDip. Doctoral study would be desirable.
A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this is essential for both positions.
