This is an exciting opportunity to join our thriving department which is the largest provider of speech and language therapy education in the UK. Our staff team includes experts in most domains of speech and language therapy, together with leaders from aligned academic subjects, including phonetics, linguistics, psychology and audiology. We are known for our world-leading research and our commitment to evidence-based practice in teaching and research. We are a friendly and collegiate department, with a comprehensive mentoring system in place and a strong commitment to developing all staff in relation to their research and educational activities, including early career researchers and new lecturers.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have academic, teaching and research experience in Phonetics and/or Phonology. They will help us to deliver and develop our current Phonetics and Phonology education provision, as relevant to the education of Speech and Language Therapists. The successful candidate will take a module leadership role for Phonetics, teach across our programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, supervise student projects, provide pastoral support for students, and undertake research aligned to the Centre for Language and Communication Science Research.

Person Specification
We are looking for someone who has academic, teaching and research experience in this field and can lead on, and develop, our current Phonetics and Phonology provision, as relevant to the education of Speech and Language Therapists. This would be an ideal post for a candidate with some clinical or research experience of working with children or adults with a communication disorder.
