Newman University enjoys a strong and expanding profile in Psychology. Psychology currently has four flourishing undergraduate Psychology programmes: Psychology, Psychology and Counselling Studies, Psychology and Childhood Studies, and Psychology with Criminology. We also offer these four programmes as a four-year degree with foundation year. All of our undergraduate Psychology programmes are BPS accredited, and we are a recognised market leader with our innovative online MSc Programme in Clinical Applications of Psychology. We have recently developed a MSc Psychology (Conversion) blended learning programme, which is significantly taught online. The subject area has also recently received BPS accreditation for SH Forensic Psychology programme.
We are seeking to appoint a full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology to join our expanding subject area. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing the new Forensic psychology modules for the Forensic Psychology programme and will make a substantial contribution to the core teaching on our other BPS undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We will also accept applications for candidates interested in a part-time or fractional role.
The post holder will design, plan and deliver a range of learning activities utilising a range of teaching methods, prepare and mark assessments, improve teaching by self-reflection and student feedback, and engage with wider university business. They will also engage in peer-recognised scholarly and research activities, lead Psychology modules, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and act as a personal tutor.
