We are seeking a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills to support the provision of high-quality training to our students.
Main duties & responsibilities
You will support the development and assessment of clinical and procedural skills through simulated learning in line with the NMC Standards of Proficiency (2018). This role involves coordinating clinical skills and simulation teaching within the nursing curriculum. This includes designing and delivering skills teaching, simulation scenarios, and practical assessments. All our lecturers participate in recruitment, teaching, support, and assessment of students (including pre-registration (BSc and MSc Programmes), student nursing associates and qualified nurses) on a range of modules. You will work with module teams to ensure an engaging, safe, and contemporary learning experience.
Skills and experience needed
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and good knowledge of the NMC Standards of Proficiency (2018) is critical, with an understanding of how they are relevant to skills teaching. Experience of facilitating the teaching of clinical skills in acute and/or community settings as well as evidence of designing educational resources and / or sessions for skills teaching is key.
At Senior Lecturer level you will be expected to have experience in simulation-based teaching methods; evidence of the use of a range of simulation equipment and prebriefing and debriefing techniques is desirable. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of teamworking and working autonomously as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications required
You will be a Registered Nurse with the NMC and hold a good Honours degree (2:2 or above) or equivalent, or higher level qualification in a relevant subject area. A teaching qualification or willingness to undertake a qualification is essential. For the Senior Lecturer post, a Masters Degree or a Level 7 qualification such as a PgDip is essential as well as evidence of CPD in relation to simulation based education.
