The Role
Forward-looking, focused and innovative. Kingston University is yours to achieve. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Nursing academic team at Kingston University as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.

Join our dynamic and forward-looking School and in this key role you will strive to enhance nursing practice and the reputation of our School of Nursing in the area of adult nursing care across all domains of practice. Articulate and well respected, you will teach primarily on nursing apprenticeships and pre-registration nursing programmes.

In particular, you will have the ability to inspire our students and will have a keen interest in developing education. Alongside being involved in the pastoral care of students, you will be encouraged and supported to further your interests in research, enterprise or professional practice. Our School of Nursing celebrates equality, diversity and inclusivity and we welcome applications from individuals who represent the full spectrum of our community.

The Person
You will have excellent communication skills and the confidence to inspire pre-registration students. You will also be passionate about supporting students in both the University and practice settings and will be abreast of local and national developments in practice learning and the nursing associate role.

Clinically up-to-date, it is likely that you will be a practice educator or an established nurse with experience in the education and training of pre-registration learners. Alternatively, you may be a nurse lecturer seeking a new teaching role with a focus on nursing associates. Whatever your background, you’ll have NMC registration and a first degree in nursing or related area (or be working towards this). If you haven’t already achieved the appropriate level of UKPSF recognition, we’ll support you in doing so during your probation period.

The Faculty
The Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care & Education offers wide ranging practice-based education and training programmes across nursing, health sciences, midwifery, social care and teaching which are informed by high quality and impactful research.

We have a successful track record in public and service user engagement and developing knowledge transfer partnerships and other enterprise activities.

The Faculty’s professional administration and support teams work together to ensure business and support services are effective, efficient and sustainable in meeting the needs of our students, staff, stakeholders and areas of work.

School of Nursing
Our people are passionate about developing nurses for the future, in each of the four fields of nursing – adult, child, learning disability and mental health; and are committed to providing contemporary, cutting-edge continuing professional development for qualified health care professionals.
