Do you want to make a difference to Children and Young People’s nursing, education, and research? Do you want to be part of a team committed to designing innovative and flexible work-based learning that makes a difference to service delivery, service users and carer experiences?

If so, we are looking for academics to join us at this exciting time in the health sector as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Children and Young People’s Nursing. You will hold a registered first-level nurse qualification in Children and Young People’s Nursing and be educated to PhD or equivalent experience. You will have a profile of academic and professional leadership skills and a recognised ability to motivate and inspire others. As a Children and Young People’s registered nurse, you will demonstrate a passion for nurse education that has the potential to make a difference to enhance the practice of others. We will offer you opportunities to develop skills in supportive opening learning, curriculum development, as well as supporting your research and scholarship interests.

Skills and experience

  • Evidence of research and scholarship – evidenced through publications and or external income funding impacting a field relevant to your discipline
  • Evidence of relevant policy affecting Children & Young People across the UK
  • Ability to lead, motivate, delegate, and encourage high performance
  • Commitment to equal opportunities policies and practices
  • Demonstrable energy and enthusiasm for promoting Nursing education at The Open University.
