Salary: UH7 £36,333 to £43,155 pa (pro rata); UH8 £43,155 to £54,421 pa (pro rata) by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience.
Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

This is an exciting opportunity to join the School as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing.

The role requires a motivated, committed and student-focused individual who is keen to play a key role in the provision of high-quality, evidence-informed nursing and nursing associate education within this vibrant department.

Main duties and responsibilities
To contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of learning and teaching activity in Adult Nursing, mainly Pre-registration Nursing (BSc & MSc-including apprenticeship) and the Nursing Associate Degree Apprenticeship programme with the possibility of contributing to short courses and CPPD programmes. At Senior Lecturer level you would be expected to take on Module Leadership.

You will use effective learning techniques to engage and support students, including supporting recruitment and assessment as required. Research, publications and presenting are important elements of the role. We embody a collaborative and compassionate ethos and you will contribute to that, also building effective working relationships with local partners and external agencies. We support all our staff achieving Fellowship of AdvanceHE and gaining recognised teaching qualifications.

Skills and experience required
You will have experience in supporting student learning in either a practice or classroom setting, and it would be advantageous if this were for nursing students or student nursing Associates. For the Senior Lecturer you’ll also demonstrate experience of facilitating student learning in a University setting (e.g. student nurses, student nursing associates).

It’s key to have knowledge of current NMC requirements and standards of proficiency, and for the Senior Lecturer also evidence of evidence-informed teaching practice. A record or evidence of publications would be desirable. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of teamworking and working autonomously as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications required
You will be a Registered Nurse with the NMC as an Adult Nurse and hold a minimum of a honours Degree (or equivalent level 6 qualification) or higher level qualification in a relevant subject area. In addition, for the Senior Lecturer post, a Masters Degree or a Level 7 qualification such as a PgDip is essential and a teaching qualification desirable.
