The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences (SRES) was created in August 2017 bringing together a diverse community of academics. As a large school, we offer a wide range of courses to our students with a blend of experiential learning. SRES is recognised across the world for taking excellence in education and research equally seriously. We deliver courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, on subjects such as sports and exercise sciences and psychology, physiotherapy, sports therapy, and sports performance.
The University of Essex has significantly expanded its state-of-the-art facilities for research and education with the opening of a new SRES facility in January 2018 with further renovation in Summer 2021. We are a dynamic, research active school, consisting of emerging and world-leading researchers with an international reputation for cutting-edge research. As part of this development and fantastic REF results, SRES continues to invest significantly in new research and teaching provision.
To support this growth, SRES is currently recruiting a lecturer to join our diverse community of scholars to contribute to our three very successful pre-registration physiotherapy degrees, including a new apprenticeship programme. Applicants do not need to be a registered physiotherapist as our programmes use innovative modules that are not restricted to profession-specific knowledge.
We would welcome applications from any registered healthcare professional, or academic with relevant knowledge and experience in a related discipline. Ideally, applicants should contribute to the delivery of learning and teaching within the School, primarily supporting the physiotherapy educational provision, and thus have experience in a variety of settings and specialities in order to support teaching across the breadth of the curriculum, and the wider school.
