About the role

Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and assessment of sport and exercise biomechanics education as part of our undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio of courses. Key to this role will be the ability to work with students to develop the skills needed for biomechanical assessment in sport and exercise contexts. The post holder will have a comprehensive understanding of the principles of applied sport and exercise biomechanics and will be able to develop student practical and theoretical knowledge and skills. Their previous qualifications in sport and exercise science will be invaluable in helping students critically appraise information and arrive at sound decisions relating to data collection and analysis. The post holder will undertake research in support of the School’s and institution’s research strategies and supervise students in the completion of their own research projects.

About the person

We seek enthusiastic and highly motivated academics with relevant qualifications as either sport and exercise scientist or in the field of sport and exercise science with an ability to develop students’ biomechanical knowledge and skills. The successful candidates will have relevant experience aligned to the post they are applying for, an ability to foster student learning and development, excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and a vision for the development of sport and exercise science within the University College.

The successful candidates must maintain their own development as an educator and are expected to contribute to the enhancement of undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD courses within the School’s portfolio.
