The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) has been named the top young higher education institution in Scotland in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings (2020). The School of Health and Life Sciences is a multidisciplinary School where teaching and research are at the heart of all activities. A diverse range of programmes are delivered at our Ayr, Dumfries, Lanarkshire, London, and Paisley campuses to a combined total of around 6400 students from over 60 countries.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the Division of Midwifery & Specialist Nursing. The successful academic will become part of a progressive team making a significant contribution to the further development of specialist and advanced practice education programmes. You will have previous experience of delivering modules/programmes within specialist practice or advanced practice, and be experienced in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment methods. Delivery of programmes will be across the Division of Midwifery & Specialist Nursing and the wider School. Specialist and Advanced practice students are nurses & allied health professionals, taking further studies to enhance their knowledge and skills and/or advance their careers in NHS/external organisations. There will be an expectation to engage in wider academic activities such as Continuing Professional Development, and other enterprise research-related opportunities for income generation.
