We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Social work. The key duties of the role holder will be to teach on the undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes across the Health & Wellbeing portfolio, and to contribute to the management of these programmes, where possible. It is expected that the role holder will contribute to the development of all facets of Social Work/Social Care within the subject group and to the wider portfolio of the Faculty.

You will have a first degree in a relevant area and registration with Social Work England. Ideally you will have a teaching qualification and a PhD/Professional Doctorate or willing to complete in dedicated timescales.

The successful candidate should demonstrate an awareness of current developments in Social Work as well as being able to facilitate the creation and maintenance of a range of links between academic and research initiatives and employers. Relevant teaching and programme delivery experience, as well as being able to undertake appropriate subject specific research and/or advanced creative practice and/or enterprise activity is essential.

NMC registration is an essential requirement for these roles along with a first degree and preferably a teaching qualification. We are particularly interested in candidates with contemporary experience in Nursing. A commitment to undertaking a PhD and membership of the Higher Education Academy is an essential requirement of the roles.

Successful candidates should demonstrate a practical awareness of current developments in Nursing Education as well as being able to facilitate the creation and maintenance of a range of links between courses and the Nursing sector.
