About the role

Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will contribute to the understanding and application of physical activity for health and wellbeing. Key to this role will be the ability to work with students to develop the skills needed for physical activity promotion and prescription. The post holder will have a comprehensive understanding of the principles of evidence-based physical activity interventions, sector best practice, and physical activity measurement and monitoring. Their previous qualifications in exercise science and physical activity will be invaluable in helping students critically appraise information and arrive at sound decisions. The post holder will undertake research in support of the School’s and institution’s research strategies and supervise students in the completion of their own research projects.

Utilising dedicated clinical teaching spaces, onsite clinical facilities and cutting-edge technology we aim to deliver courses which provide work ready graduates who excel in their chosen field.

About the person

We seek enthusiastic and highly motivated academics with relevant qualifications in physical activity and health with an ability to develop students’ practical decision-making skills. The successful candidates will have relevant experience aligned to the post they are applying for, an ability to foster student learning and development, excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and a vision for the development of healthcare education within the University College.

The successful candidates must maintain their own development as an educator and are expected to contribute to the enhancement of pre-registration, post-registration and CPD courses within the School’s portfolio.
