During this period City has made significant investments in its academic staff, its estate and its infrastructure and continues to work towards realising its vision of being a leading global university.
The organisational psychology group (within the department of psychology) is looking to appoint a lecturer on a fixed-term (maternity cover) contract. This well-stablished group delivers a popular MSc in organisational psychology, which is accredited by the British Psychological Society and recognized by the Association for Business Psychology. The course attracts around 40 to 45 students into each cohort.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for leading, teaching, and assessing on two (quantitative) research methods modules, covering a range of introductory statistical methods and concepts (in Term 1) and some more advanced methods (in Term 2). The teaching can involve a mix of lecture content, online materials, and workshops using SPSS. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to perform a range of other duties, including personal tutoring, dissertation module management and supervision, and other course and departmental administrative responsibilities linked to the role of a lecturer in psychology.
The candidate should be able to deliver engaging and high quality teaching sessions on (quantitative) research methods to a diverse group of students on an MSc in organisational psychology. This position may suit a candidate who has recently completed (or is soon to complete) a PhD in a relevant area. It may also be advantageous if the candidate could complement existing expertise in the organisational psychology group (e.g., by offering additional taught sessions on other modules across the postgraduate programme).
