The School of Healthcare (SHC) provides undergraduate and postgraduate pre-registration education for nursing (adult, child and mental health), midwifery, social work and psychotherapy and counselling; postgraduate and professional development for pharmacists, advanced clinical practitioners, assessors in practice and other NHS workforce priority areas.

Our applied health research has five themes that inform our curricula and educational provision: Long Term Conditions; Maternal Child and Family Health; Medicines Optimisation; Mental Health; People Systems and Services.

The School of Healthcare’s overall aim is the creation, dissemination and application of knowledge to improve the health and wellbeing of communities, families and individuals by way of innovation in education, research and scholarship.

Supported by Health Education England our blended learning degree in midwifery is a significantly different approach to midwifery education that will give future students a chance to study in a more flexible and accessible way. As a Lecturer in Midwifery you will contribute to the delivery of high quality and digitally enhanced student education and support, and lead developments in this role.

As a Lecturer in Midwifery you will have an MSc (PhD or equivalent is desirable), and experience in educational provision. You will also be a registered midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), or be eligible for registration, have practice experience, and have a teaching qualification or be willing to undertake one when in post.
