Lecturer in Midwifery

Opening Date:

Closing Date:

Salary Range:

We are looking to recruit a Lecturer to join our forward thinking and dynamic midwifery team at Sheffield Hallam University. We offer a growing portfolio of midwifery courses, including the BSc (Hons) Midwifery, the MSc Midwifery and ACP in Midwifery. The role will also involve working collaboratively across the College to deliver the multi-professional Integrated Care Curriculum and engage in wider partnership working. We pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with students, academics, researchers, practice learning partners, service users and health and social care organisations, both academically and clinically.

The role requires an ability to work as part of a team to teach and assess students undertaking the midwifery and integrated care curricula, using innovative and creative learning resources underpinned by contemporary research findings. Lecturers have a key role in supporting students – academically, pastorally and also clinically; supporting students and clinicians in the practice learning environment by visits to regional partner NHS Trusts will form an important part of this role. An ability to work flexibly is required, and the role involves hybrid working, with some time spent on campus, and some working from home. Scholarly activity and personal and professional development are also encouraged.

If you are offered this post, you will be subject to an enhanced with barred lists check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
